We Are Overcomers In Christ!

I read in a book, Caring For People God’s Way, by Tim Clinton, Archibald Hart, and George Ohlschlager, last week, this story:

Sarah is five.  Her parents drop her off at Sunday school every week.  She learned to sing, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so,” Little ones to Him belong,” and “They are weak but He is strong.”  Sarah’s daddy rapes her several times a week.  Sometimes she gets a break because he rapes her sister instead.  The song says Jesus loves her.  It says He is strong.  So Sarah asks Jesus to stop her daddy from hurting her and her sister.  Nothing happens.  Maybe Jesus is not so strong after all. Or at least, He is not as strong as her daddy.  Nothing, not even Jesus, can stop her daddy.  The people who wrote the Bible must not have known about her daddy.
Have you ever wondered this?  What kind of answer can one offer to a child who questions this?  Or even to an adult?  I remember asking pastors and counselors this very question.  All I can say today to you, is that God has allowed me to endure the pains, obstacles and trials in life so that I can walk beside each of you holding your hand.  I am a survivor of abuse, and I can honestly stand before you today and say that I have a loving, all powerful God that is my best friend.  I want to share with you the truth about God.  He is big.  He is awesome.  He does love you.  He wants the very best for you.  Let’s take what the devil meant for bad in our lives and turn it to good.  We are children of royalty.  We are children of the King.  This makes us Princesses.  Let’s take a stand together against the powers of this dark world, and move ahead to the calling that God placed in our lives before we were even born.

I have faith in each one of you that you can do this.  I have faith in each one of you that you can be an overcomer and reach the life that God wants you to have regardless of the things you’ve had to endure in your past.

I praise You dear God for each and every person that is reading this post and prayer.  I pray Your abundant blessings upon each one of them.  I thank You dear God, that You are going to surround them with Your anointing so that they can overcome the things that have held them in bondage.  I know that You are bigger than any problem that any of us have, so I praise You in advance that You are going to meet each one of our needs.  Lord, God, we ask that You show us the truth about your Word and Your will for our lives.  Dear God, please direct every step of our lives, and take everything that the devil has meant for destruction upon our lives and turn it into your blessings and plan for us.  Dear God, I pray that You bless every person that reads this!  Please meet each one of their needs!  In Jesus name, Amen!
