About Me

After overcoming the battle of abuse, herself, and working in the court system with teenage girls and women, Anissa developed a passion and desire to work with those who have been abused (sexually, physically, mentally and emotionally) and neglected. She saw firsthand that lives were being destroyed and drawn in the wrong direction. She has vowed to commit her life to help restore the lives of those who have suffered abuse in their childhood and marriages. She learned that many of the obstacles and struggles they were experiencing stemmed from the abuse they had encountered in their lives.

Anissa fully understands the pain that women carry who have been abused. Through her own experience, she has learned how to gain control back of her life and realize that none of the abuse was her fault. She was inspired to build Restore Hearts, Inc. to offer encouragement and insight to those who are hurting. She wants everyone who has been abused to know this promise, "It's not my fault." Many people who have been abused believe it to be their fault, but it's not!

Anissa has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, and is currently working on her Master's in Professional Counseling. She has also taken a lot of specialty classes in Christian Counseling and Life Coaching. She has found these classes have added amazing knowledge and insight in helping her assist others who are experiencing a crisis and/or looking for a better and bright future. She is also a member in good standing with AACC, American Association of Christian Counselors, and Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology.
