It’s funny how things happen sometimes. Friday was a very challenging day for me. First of all, when I went to get gas, the pump was messed up so I had to go inside to pay. When I got inside to pay, it took several minutes before the staff realized that they couldn’t set the pump I was on for gas because they had placed another person’s credit on that pump. When they finally cleared it out, and I went outside to pump my gas, it still wouldn’t allow me to pump. Again, a trip inside told me that they set it for the low grade. She said that they do that when you prepay inside unless a person specifies otherwise. Thirty minutes later, I’m finally pumping low grade fuel into our truck. I kept smiling and thanking God. I was not going to let this ruin my day even though I had an appointment that I was running close on time for.
When I got home from my appointment, I decided that I was going to mow the grass for my husband, who had worked all day, and we were scheduled to leave town after he mowed the grass that evening. I didn’t want him to have to come home and mow. Long story short, the mower wouldn’t start, so I couldn’t get this task done.
The next obstacle for my day was not being able to upload my blog because the internet would not come in at our second home. It comes in when it chooses too. I finally told God that I trust in Him, and I would upload it as soon as the internet came back on. I did this the next day.
It’s funny how things happen and don’t happen. The devil tried his best to get me down all day long, but I didn’t allow him too. I chose to keep praising God and trusting in Him. We have the ability to choose whether we are going to be happy, mad or frustrated. The Bible tells us that we can take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to God. Getting frustrated wouldn’t have been the answer. It just would have ruined my day. Instead, I chose to take captive every thought that came into my mind and turn the bad to good. What a wonderful God we serve!
Dear God, I praise You for all things! Thank You for helping me to see that we can enjoy peace and happiness in You even when things around us seem to be going against us. Dear God, I pray that You touch each person who is reading this post and help them to enjoy Your peace and happiness too. I pray that You meet each one of their needs and bless them. Dear God, please help each one of them to take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to Your Word! We love You so much! In Jesus name, Amen!
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
